This is my dog, Buddy, dressed up as Castiel. The jean jacket is spray painted grey, but you can’t really tell in the photo. He didn’t love the photo shoot, actually he kept trying to shake off the costume (which comprised of baby clothes and a human sized trench coat). I love the photo, though, and Buddy got treats. It’s a win win situation.

My Dad, the younger gentleman on the right, looking like he is sticking a pencil in his mouth, was always involved in publicity stunts to help the newpapers.  His friend Bud Gray, the photographer for this shot, were great buddies through out their newspaper careers.  Both are gone now, fond memories remain, however seeing this photo reminds me of what a great time he had when he was around.  Oh to be able to time travel and see him again.

Today, while taking a walk with Buddy in our neighborhood park, the Santa Ana Winds blew this beautiful birds nest from the trees. I assume it was created this past Spring, it would make a cool addition to a holiday wreath, a country home wreath, or a school project. Only one was found so when it is gone, it’s gone!
Small, about the size of a sparrows nest, as you can see from this photo, it fits in the palm of my hand.
